Kees Brants is director of the MA-programme in European Communication Studies and senior research fellow at the Amsterdam School of Communications Research (ASCoR), both at the University of Amsterdam. He also holds the chair in political communication at Leiden University. Prior to his academic career he worked as a journalist for several Dutch newspapers. His research focuses on media policy, electoral communication and political journalism.
