Question: How accessible is public information to journalists?
Formal legal rights are strong.
There is much public information accessible, but there is still documents hidden from the public. The interviewed journalists all say that the access depend on the agency obtaining it, and on what kind of information you are looking for.
“A lot of it is, of reports and such, accessible on public agencies websites. It is easy to get bureaucracy and police in speech by phone or mail and such”, says one of the journalists.
There is also possible to apply for access in cases where information is not available to the public and based on the interviews this sometimes work.
Even though much is available, all journalists in the study so far agree that there is important information that is not available and possible to access.
