Claudia Padovani is Associate Professor in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Padova (Italy). her main areas of interest concern the transformation of political processes in the global context and their connection to the evolution of communications and its governance, with a special focus on gender equality issues and communication rights.

Torbjörn von Krogh is a former reporter and editor turned media researcher, affiliated to Mid Sweden University. His interests concern media criticism, media ethics and media accountability. He wrote the chapter on Sweden forThe European Handbook of Media Accountability (Routledge, 2018).

Lars Nord is professor and chair of political communication at Mid Sweden University in Sundsvall. His main research interests are election campaigns, political journalism and media policy. He co-edited Euroflections. Leading academics on the European elections 2019 (DEMICOM, 2019)
The Media for Democracy Monitor (MDM) is a research project from The Euromedia Research Group. This is a network of researchers that collects and exchanges information that help to describe and analyse developments in media structure and policy in Europe.
